Directorate Overview

The Directorate of Administration and Human Resource Management (DAHRM) is a pivotal unit within the university, responsible for overseeing administrative operations and managing human resources. Duties and Functions

  1. Administrative Management:

    • Oversee the university’s administrative functions to ensure efficient operations.
    • Develop and implement administrative policies and procedures.
    • Manage office services, including facilities management, mail services, and office supplies.
  2. Human Resource Planning and Recruitment:

    • Develop and execute HR strategies aligned with the university’s goals.
    • Coordinate the recruitment process, including job postings, interviews, and selection.
    • Ensure a fair and transparent hiring process to attract qualified candidates.
  3. Employee Onboarding and Development:

    • Design and implement onboarding programs for new employees.
    • Provide training and professional development opportunities.
    • Support career development and succession planning.
  4. Performance Management:

    • Establish performance management systems and appraisal processes.
    • Conduct regular performance evaluations and provide feedback.
    • Implement performance improvement plans when necessary.
  5. Compensation and Benefits Administration:

    • Develop and manage competitive compensation and benefits programs.
    • Ensure accurate and timely payroll processing.
    • Administer employee benefits, including health insurance, retirement plans, and leave policies.
  6. Employee Relations and Engagement:

    • Foster a positive and inclusive work environment.
    • Address employee concerns and grievances in a timely and effective manner.
    • Promote employee engagement through various initiatives and activities.
  7. Policy Development and Compliance:

    • Develop and update HR and administrative policies to ensure compliance with laws and regulations.
    • Monitor adherence to policies and procedures across the university.
    • Ensure compliance with labor laws, employment standards, and university policies.
  8. Organizational Development:

    • Conduct organizational assessments and develop improvement plans.
    • Implement change management initiatives to enhance organizational effectiveness.
    • Promote a culture of continuous improvement and innovation.
  9. Health, Safety, and Wellness:

    • Develop and implement health and safety programs to ensure a safe work environment.
    • Promote employee wellness through health programs and initiatives.
    • Address occupational health issues and support employees’ well-being.
