The Students and staff have complete freedom of worship based on their spiritual beliefs, within the limitations of the laws of the country and Student By-Laws. Mzumbe University is a non-religious institution but yet, it provides opportunities to allow students and staff to participate in various religious faiths.

Students are free to join in one of the following religious groups existed in Mzumbe University; Tanzania Movement of Catholic Students (TMCS), Universities Students Christian Fellowship (USCF), Mzumbe University Muslim Students and Youths Association (MUMSYA), Tanzania Universities and Colleges Adventists Students Association (TUCASA), Christ Ambassadors Students Fellowship Tanzania (CASFETA- TAYOMI.)
