Dr. Godfrey Kacholi, PhD

Biography

Dr. Godfrey Kacholi is a Senior Lecturer and Programme Coordinator in the Department of Health Systems Management at Mzumbe University. He also serves as the Chief Editor of the East African Journal of Health Monitoring and Evaluation. Dr. Kacholi holds a PhD in Public Health, a Master of Science in International Health, a Master of Arts in Health Policy and Management, a Postgraduate Diploma in Poverty Analysis, and a Bachelor of Public Administration in Health Services Management. With over 10 years at Mzumbe University, he previously worked with CARE International Tanzania, where he managed HIV/AIDS projects and supported the Global Fund's HIV, Malaria, and TB programs. He has significant experience in teaching and supervising research at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels. His consultancy work includes reviewing national guidelines, program evaluations, and providing tailored training. He has authored and co-authored articles and a book in peer-reviewed publications. His primary research interests include quality improvement in health systems, international health, monitoring and evaluation, and hospital management. Dr. Kacholi is a Co-Principal Investigator for the MWOTAJI project, which seeks to improve healthcare access for young women in Tanzania.
