As part of its commitment to strengthening international collaboration in higher learning institutions, Mzumbe University today, 15 July 2026, hosted Ms. Johanna Luettge, a representative from the Internationalisation Unit, Department of Geography, University of Bonn, Germany, at Main Campus in Morogoro. The visit aimed to strengthen the long-standing partnership between the two universities and discuss the implementation of academic exchange programmes under the Erasmus+ Programme. During her visit, Ms. Luettge met with the Director of the Internationalisation and Convocation Unit at Mzumbe University, Dr. Lucy Massoi, to discuss international cooperation, the role of the International Office, the availability of academic programmes, and opportunities for further expansion and collaboration between the two institutions. Speaking during the meeting, Ms. Luettge said that Mzumbe University and the University of Bonn have successfully completed six years of cooperation under the European Union-funded Erasmus+ Mobility Programme. She noted that the partnership has recently secured a third round of funding, extending the programme for another three years until 2029. Ms. Luettge also met the Director of Students' Services at Mzumbe University, Mr. Alphonce Kauky and discussed student selection procedures, accommodation, language support, and sports services available for exchange programmes. The discussions focused on ensuring that incoming and outgoing students continue to receive quality academic and welfare support throughout their exchange experience. The visit further strengthened the partnership between Mzumbe University and the University of Bonn, reaffirming both institutions' commitment to advancing academic mobility, collaborative research, and internationalisation while creating greater opportunities for students and staff to engage in global learning and academic exchange.
